The Apple Valley Model Railroad Club will be hosting a Polar Express Story Time at the Depot on Saturday, Dec 20, from 10 am - 2 pm. There will be multiple readings, each lasting approximately 45 minutes. Children must be accompanied by their parents at all times. Hot Chocolate will be provided. Trains will also be running. The Hendersonville Boys and Girls Club will provide the readers.

The Polar Express story is based on the real-life Pere Marquette 1225, a 2-8-4 "Berkshire" steam locomotive. The book's author was inspired by the 1225 while it was on display in Michigan, and its blueprints and sounds were used to create the CGI model for the film, with its whistle coming from another locomotive. Many model train companies, like Lionel, produce their own versions of the Polar Express locomotive in different gauges (like HO and O gauge).

As a member of Apple Valley Model Railroad Club, you will have access to exclusive events, discounts on merchandise, and opportunities to volunteer and make a positive impact in your community.
